Pam Verner - Master Groomer

Pam Verner’s passion and love for animals began in childhood as a pet owner. Her parents, being dog owners (German Shepherds), Pam Verner indulged her passion, allowing her to own many various pets, including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, chickens, ducks, rats, hamsters, birds, snakes, lizards, turtles, and tropical fish. She showed horses in hunter jumper competitions as a junior rider in Southern California. Pam worked for veterinarian, Dr. Bartfay in 1976-77 where she learned many aspects of pet health care. She currently owns Standard Poodles and a toy Poodle. She has previously owned German Shepherds, German Shorthair Pointers, Shetland Sheepdogs, Rottweilers, and Yorkshire Terriers.

Pam began her professional pet grooming career in Southern California in April 1977. She apprenticed with professional groomer, Carole Buck-Hubbard, for two years in Costa Mesa, CA. She worked at World’s Largest/Russo’s for a total of five years, becoming grooming manager at the age of 19, when she also received her Associate of Arts degree (AA) from Orange Coast College. During that time she attended several grooming contests where she displayed her talents and won awards (firsts and seconds) for her grooming expertise. These contests were sponsored by the World Wide Pet Supply Association (WWPSA) and National Retail Pet Supply and Groomer’s Association (NRPSGA). She also did creative grooming for a TV commercial advertising the All-American Pet Show in Los Angeles CA.

Pam’s marriage in 1982 took her to Winnemucca Nevada where she opened Pam’s Canine Design. That successful business ran for 22 years until its sale in 2004 to move to Eugene Oregon. She was a student in Nevada and Oregon, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in December 2009 from Northwest Christian University in Eugene. She worked at End Results Pet Grooming for Susan Walz part-time from 2008-2010 and after graduating worked for Wilco Farm Store in Springfield from April 2010-November 2011.

Her lifetime passion and love for animals and her entrepreneurial spirit compelled her to open another pet grooming business, The PetSpaw, in December 2011. Pam takes great pride in her work and delivers only the best for her customers, doing breed standard and customer guided styling. She has been exceeding expectations professionally for 35 years now. Her compassion for healthy pets drives her to share her knowledge with pet owners encouraging them in matters of nutrition, ears and teeth, and maintenance of the coat and skin in between grooming.

Pam welcomes you to The PetSpaw, “where end results matter.” Please call for your next appointment to discuss your dog or cat’s grooming needs. Thank you.
